Cymbopogon flexuosus

Lemongrass (Citronella) essential oil dōTERRA | 15 ml

Lemongrass (Citronella) essential oil dōTERRA | 15 ml

Lemongrass essential oil is the lemongrass of Asian cooking, the one that flavours soups, curries and broths. Distilled in India from a tall grass grown by smallholder farmers, it smells of lemon with a herbal, sharp and slightly smoky note. Not to be confused with Java Citronella, its more floral cousin, which does not belong in the kitchen.

In the kitchen, the tip of a toothpick dipped into the bottle is enough to flavour a curry, a soup or a tea, and it lifts fish, poultry, beef and seafood. It pairs well with Basil, Cardamom or Spearmint. In the diffuser, its invigorating aroma refreshes a room. Diluted, it cleanses and tones the skin and scalp with a cooling sensation, and goes with a post-workout massage.

An oil that moves from the kitchen to the bathroom, with the same lively scent.
