Elettaria cardamomum

Cardamom essential oil dōTERRA | 5 ml

Cardamom essential oil dōTERRA | 5 ml

Cardamom essential oil is the fresh spice of the dōTERRA range, a relative of ginger and one of the most fragrant oils in the catalogue. Distilled from the small black seeds inside the pods, it owes to 1,8-cineole a spicy yet fresh, almost minty scent that sets it apart from warm spices such as cinnamon.

A drop flavours homemade bread, homemade chocolate or a salad; after a meal, a drop in a tea or a tall glass of water. In the diffuser, it brightens the atmosphere with a fresh aroma, and softens with Lavender. Diluted in a carrier oil, it gives the skin a cooling sensation during an invigorating massage; a drop in the bath water accompanies a moment of relaxation, and applied diluted to the chest, it is breathed in deeply for an energising aroma.

A spice that refreshes rather than warms, in the kitchen as on the skin.
