Frankincense essential oil, known as the king of essential oils, is one of the most prized in the dōTERRA range. It brings together the resins of several Boswellia species, harvested in Oman and Ethiopia, each where it grows best: the result is a rich, woody, floral and resinous scent.

On the skin, two drops in your morning moisturiser reduce the appearance of blemishes and soothe dry skin, which regains a younger, healthier look. It also keeps cuticles and nails in good condition, and one drop on the toothbrush, before the toothpaste, cleans the teeth and gums. Frankincense has been traded since antiquity, between Egyptians, Assyrians, Persians, Macedonians and Kushites: it is the oldest known international supply chain. Even today, the resin “tears” are carefully cleaned and sorted by size and colour before distillation.

Uses

  • Cosmetic

    Add two drops to your moisturiser to reduce the appearance of blemishes and soothe dry skin.

    Apply it, diluted, to the hands after a long day of gardening, for its soothing effect.

    Massage it into the skin, diluted in a carrier oil, for a feeling of relaxation and balance.

    Apply it, diluted, to cuticles and nails to keep them in good condition.

    Put one drop on your toothbrush before the toothpaste to clean the teeth and gums.

    Add five drops, mixed with 5 ml of carrier oil, to a warm bath for a soothing aroma.

    Dilute one drop in a little water as a mouth rinse, then rinse out without swallowing.
