Citrus bergamia

Bergamot essential oil dōTERRA | 15ml

Bergamot essential oil dōTERRA | 15ml

Bergamot essential oil comes from the most delicate of all citrus fruits, a bitter fruit that Italians hardly ever eat and that is grown mainly for its peel. It is a citrus for perfumery rather than for the kitchen: its bright, lemony and slightly spicy aroma is more floral than that of lemon or orange.

What sets it apart is this aroma, both uplifting and calming, which suits the morning as well as the evening. It is found in a wide range of perfumes, creams and soaps, and lends itself to the same gestures at home: one or two drops in a homemade skin cleanser, a few drops in the shower, or diluted in fractionated coconut oil for a soothing massage. It also helps cleanse the skin and gives the complexion a fresher look.

A citrus you wear, rather than taste.

Interesting fact

Bergamot peel is one of the main ingredients of Earl Grey tea. To extract the oil, the peel is grated under water with a tool similar to a cheese grater, and the fruit comes out looking like a small fluffy ball.

  • Cosmetic

Add one or two drops to your homemade skin cleanser.

Apply it, diluted, in the shower to cleanse the skin and enjoy its aroma.

Mix it with fractionated coconut oil for a soothing massage oil.

Dilute it and massage the soles of your feet at bedtime.

Pair it, diluted, with Ylang Ylang for a more floral scent to wear on the wrists.

  • Everyday

Diffuse it at the end of a busy working day, or in the evening when you get home.

Add a few drops to a spray bottle of water to clean surfaces and remove sticky residue.
