Lavender essential oil dōTERRA | 15 ml

Lavender essential oil is the most widely used oil in the dōTERRA range, and the first one to recommend to someone just starting out. This is true lavender, not the lavandin that covers the fields photographed in Provence: more floral and less camphoraceous, it goes to distillation within twenty-four hours of cutting, which holds on to its most volatile notes.

Its soothing properties are used to relax the body and lift the mood: three or four drops in the diffuser at the end of the day, or diluted on the temples and the nape of the neck, encourage a feeling of calm. Applied to pillows and bed linen, it accompanies bedtime. On the skin it soothes and moisturises dry areas, and one drop in a dose of shampoo helps keep hair thick and healthy-looking.

Interesting fact

The Romans and the Egyptians already used it for washing and for their perfumes. Its name comes from the Latin lavare, to wash.

Uses

  • Cosmetic

    Add one drop to your usual face cream.

    Dilute 1 drop in 10 drops of carrier oil and apply to the wrists, like a perfume.

    Add one drop to a dose of shampoo.

    On dry areas, apply it diluted to soothe and moisturise the skin.

    After a day in the sun, apply it diluted for a soothing effect.

  • Everyday

    Dilute a few drops and apply to the temples and the back of the neck at the end of the day.

    Add 5 drops, diluted in 5 ml of carrier oil, to your bath water.

    In the evening, apply it diluted to the soles of the feet.

    Put a little on your pillow or bed linen before going to bed.

    Mix a few drops with water in a spray bottle to freshen linen and rooms.
