Neroli essential oil, diluted in fractionated coconut oil and presented in a roll-on, is the most floral of the citrus oils in the dōTERRA range. It is distilled from bitter orange blossom, picked by hand in Egypt: the same tree also gives Petitgrain, from the leaves and twigs, and Bitter Orange, from the peel, but neroli remains the rarest of the three.

Its soft, fresh, slightly tangy aroma promotes a good mood and relaxation, which is what earns it its place in perfumery. Applied before your moisturiser, the roll-on soothes the skin and promotes a younger-looking complexion by reducing blemishes. Rolled onto the temples before a workout, or onto the wrists at the end of it, it accompanies the day; combined with Lavender, Ylang Ylang and Marjoram, it makes for an aromatic, relaxing massage.

Interesting fact

Neroli owes its name to Marie-Anne de La Trémoille, Princess of Nerola in the 17th century, who scented her gloves and her bathwater with bitter orange blossom. The fashion outlived her, and the flower kept the name of her principality.
